We are pleased to announce that UpsnDowns have been chosen as one of three charities to receive token nominations for the month of August at Asda in Kettering.

This is as a result of our member Theresa Robinson nominating our charity for which we are extremely grateful.

The charity who receives the most tokens will receive £200 with the two runners up getting £50 each.

Please could you all bear this in mind when doing your shopping during August as if you are able to get to Asda in Kettering you can help to increase our chances by placing the token you receive at the checkout in our box.

Please also spread the word amongst family and friends. We will keep you all up to date with progress.

starlight1-300x206Jacc Batch and all the extremely talented performers at Starlight Dance & Music Theatre School recently staged their World Parade at the Kettering Lighthouse Theatre on Saturday May 5th. It was a full house for both performances and they have very kindly donated a cheque to UpsnDowns in the sum of £1896.00 as a result of their ticket sales. Karen Smith and her son Dylan representing the charity are shown receiving the cheque from some of the Starlight Kids.

Ups ‘n’ Downs was formed in 2006 by four families as a support network for parents whose children have Down’s Syndrome.

Its members meet up monthly at the Wacky Warehouse in Rushden and at a Parent Tots group fortnightly in Kettering. The charity aims to raise awareness of the condition and the group as well as providing specialist events and information.
