PARENTS have launched a charity for families with children who have Down's Syndrome.

The Ups n Downs group was started by a small group of parents who meet at the children's centre near Manor School in Raunds every Tuesday.

One of the aims of the group is to change people's perceptions and encourage them to change the way they refer to individuals who have Down's Syndrome.

Group chairman Tom Rees, whose son Freddie is among the youngsters who attend the group, said: "We should refer to people as children with Down's Syndrome, rather than Down's children or people."
